MALTA YOUTHS TO THE FALDO SERIES
23/07/2010
Christopher Bergedahl, Daniel Holland and JJ Micallef will be leaving Malta on Saturday 24th June to participate in the official qualifying event for the 2010 Faldo Series Grand Final. The qualifying rounds will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday on the Dunes Course at Costa Navarino in Greece.
Sir Nick Faldo (winner of 3 Open Championships and 3 Masters Tournament) created the Faldo Series in 1996 to help identify and nurture the next generation of champions. The Faldo Series Asia followed in 2006 and over 30 annual tournaments now take place in more than 25 countries throughout the UK, Europe, South America, the Middle East and Asia.
Each year over 5,000 talented golfers worldwide, boys and girls aged 12 to 21, benefit from a unique combination of tournament experience and expert advice, including support and advice from Faldo himself.
The leading players qualify for either the Faldo Series Grand Final in Europe or the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final in China; both R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking events. The European finals will this year be held in September at the Lough Erne Resort in Northern Ireland.
The participation of Chris, Daniel and JJ (all members of the Royal Malta Golf Club) is being made possible through the auspices of the Malta Golf Association.
