WATC PLAYERS SELECTED

The MGA Selection Committee, composed of Ian Restall, John Bonello, Maureen Borg and Ray Mountford, met on Saturday 30th June 2012 to decide who will be representing Malta in the Eisenhower Trophy that will be played in Antalya, Turkey between the 4th and 7th October 2012.

Based on the players’ performance during their golfing season at the Royal Malta Golf Club, the Committee resolved in favour of Andy Borg, Ruud Critien and Peter Satariano with Nicholas Beck and Chris Bergedahl as first and second reserves respectively.

Ahead of the selection process, the Committee understood that the process was going to be a very difficult one as two of the five players were going to be left bitterly disappointed. Because of this the Selection Committee decided to be very prescriptive in its decision and i.e. to be very rigid with the point system according to the playing performance, championship, average strokes and order of merit placing at the end of the season.
